Show time and a Grand reunion

Much angst yesterday - off with the family to see G's eldest grand daughter sing a duet of Skyfall on stage at the Derngate Theatre in Northampton (at the tender age of 9) - only her mic didn't work!!! We, therefore, stayed to watch the second, evening, performance and ....... her mic didn't work. At least this time her Mum was backstage and managed to persuade someone to pass a hand held onto the stage - she never missed a beat bless her; just took the mic like a pro and continued to sing her socks off. Two performances and at least we heard half of one. Needless to say it was the best rendition of Skyfall that has ever been heard.

Now today has been a constant batting of text messages back and forth and I think a bloggers boaty fest tomorrow evening is actually going to happen - plans do happen sometimes. We had an early passage through Standground Lock today and are moored at Peterborough - Balmaha and No Problem (our intrepid Wash crossing Mariners) should be here sometime tomorrow and the highly speedy Ducks Willows will drop by en route to March (passage through Standgound at 3 pm) and then get a train back.

I suspect it's going to be a fabulous evening!!

Starting to see rain in the weather forecasts again now - we need to get ourselves out of here pdq Wednesday morning or risk getting stuck on strong stream again - Yarwood probably made the correct decision to just make a run for it whilst it was dry, but we needed to make that concert yesterday.

That's us, finally, back to normal now - car gone; meeting up with old mates; travelling as and when the weather permits.

  1. Belated "Happy Birthday" to G - hope he had a good day.

Enjoy your knees up with the "Washers" - sounds as if they're on a complete high after the experience!
